All of these welcoming community cafés are building solidarity between people through open-mindedness and the sharing of food, beverages and music. They are all located in Brighton, UK.

Africa House is famous for its friendly atmosphere and possibility to get to know more about African culture. It is a public living room, where everyone is invited to relax. Migrant and refugee groups are also warmly welcomed to hold their own events and study groups.

MATÉ CAFÉ

Maté Café is a once-a-month gathering centred around Syrian culture. Attendees are invited to partake in some maté tea, and to share traditional Syrian food. Music is also a part of the café and every gathering offers a chance to enjoy live performances!

Jollof Café is a community café, where migrants are able to cook food from their country of origin, once a week. Through food and a shared space, the customers are able to create solidarity and a network of trust and support.
